Sales & Business Office Careers

An Automotive Sales Associate is a person who assists customers purchasing vehicles and other items from a dealership. In most cases, an Automotive Sales Associate helps retail customers purchase a vehicle from the dealership lot, although some Automotive Sales Associates may provide assistance to remote fleet and wholesale customers, or may deal exclusively with internet based customers.

Business Office Representatives fulfill a number of different roles in a dealership. Some Representatives may work exclusively with customer credit applications, exclusively with insurance packages provided through the dealership, or they may work exclusively with aftermarket products available through a dealership.

Auto Body Technician

An Automotive Refinishing Technician is a person who paints and refinishes automobiles, trucks, and buses. They may be involved in collision or restorative work, or they may design and create custom paint jobs.

An Automotive Collision Repair Technician is a person who repairs, adjusts, and replaces sheet metal and allied parts of automobiles, trucks, and buses.

Auto body technicians may play other roles in a dealership as well, including the role of collision damage estimator.

Service Technician

An Automotive Service Technician is a person who repairs, adjusts, and replaces mechanical and electrical parts of automobiles and light trucks. This includes most vehicle systems, such as fuel, brake, steering and suspension systems, transmissions and drive trains, emission control and exhaust systems, engines, electrical, cooling, and climate control systems. Some technicians specialize in one or more of these systems.

Service technicians may serve other roles in a dealership as well, including the role of Service Advisor.
