With less than a week until the curtain rises on the 2026 Vancouver International Auto Show, a new and exciting feature has been unveiled that reflects the growing cultural energy surrounding this year’s event: a special appearance by Fast & Furious star Sung Kang.
Kang, best known to global audiences for his role as Han in the Fast & Furious franchise will appear at the show on March 25 and 26 to meet fans and present an extended trailer preview of DRIFTER, a new motorsport drama that celebrates the art of drifting and the passion that connects car enthusiasts around the world.
For the Vancouver International Auto Show, the appearance reflects how deeply car culture resonates across industries, from motorsport and engineering to film and global entertainment.
As Executive Director Eric Nicholl notes, that connection is exactly what makes events like this special. Car culture has always been about more than machines. It’s about the stories people tell, the communities that form around shared passions, and the excitement of seeing something new for the first time.
The announcement adds a Hollywood element to what is already shaping up to be one of the most dynamic editions of the Vancouver International Auto Show in recent years.
From March 25–29, the Vancouver Convention Centre will host more than 200 vehicles from over 30 manufacturers and dealer groups across roughly 300,000 square feet of exhibit space. For five days, the waterfront venue will become the most immersive automotive experience in Western Canada – a place where visitors can explore, compare, and experience the vehicles shaping the future of transportation.
Behind the scenes, months of planning have gone into assembling this year’s show. Manufacturers, dealers, engineers, and exhibitors have worked together to create an event that reflects the rapidly evolving automotive landscape – one that now includes electrification, advanced safety systems, connected technologies, and an expanding range of choices for consumers.
Visitors will see some of the extraordinary engineering shaping the future of mobility, including Formula 1 display cars from Audi and Cadillac, rare performance vehicles, and advanced concept designs that showcase where automotive technology is heading next.
But what makes the Vancouver show unique is its emphasis on hands-on experience.
The expanded ride-and-drive program will allow attendees to get behind the wheel of up to 50 clean-energy vehicles, including battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid models – and experience firsthand what ownership actually feels like.
The show floor also provides something increasingly rare in today’s online marketplace: the ability to compare vehicles side-by-side in one place.
Behind those vehicles are thousands of British Columbians whose work supports the automotive sector every day. Across the province, more than 400 new car and truck dealers employ nearly 30,000 people and generate approximately $17 billion in annual retail sales. The Vancouver International Auto Show is where those professionals connect with the public.
For many visitors, the conversations that begin on the show floor – sitting in a vehicle, asking questions, comparing options, will shape purchasing decisions months or even years later.
When the doors open next week, the show will deliver exactly what it promises: five days, hundreds of vehicles, and one place where British Columbians can explore what they might drive next. And this year, with a little help from Hollywood, the experience will be even more memorable.
