Every year at the Vancouver International Auto Show, we are extremely pleased to offer opportunities for our tens of thousands of show-goers to win amazing prizes.

I would like to give a huge congratulations to both Tamara Woods from Hope and Adam Steele from Vancouver, who are driving away with the ultimate souvenirs from the Auto Show – a brand new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV and a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum Midnight Edition, respectively.

The Vancouver Auto Show takes pride in offering British Columbians not only what’s now but what’s next when it comes to new vehicles in Canada and our Grand Prize vehicles are no exception.

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV was one of the most highly anticipated vehicles to hit the Canadian EV market this year and saw strong sales south of the border sales when it arrived in U.S. dealer lots back in December.

And when the Chevy Bolt was revealed to be one of the Grand Prize vehicles at the Auto Show, it certainly got show-goers talking.

First unveiled as a concept car in the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the Chevrolet Bolt EV lays claim to a multitude of prestigious awards, including the 2017 North American Car of the Year award, Green Car Reports Best Car to Buy 2017, Green Car Journal’s 2017 green Car of the Year, and was even listed in Time Magazine Best 25 Inventions of the Year for 2016.

With a range of over 380 kilometres on a full charge and featuring advanced technology like one pedal driving, the Chevy Bolt is one of the most affordable and advanced EV’s in the market to date.

Now, through our annual Auto Show contest, Tamara Woods is one of the first lucky owners of the new Chevy Bolt in British Columbia.

It’s always interesting to see how the Auto Show reflects the ever-changing auto industry in Canada. As clean energy vehicle technology advances even further, we can hope to see even more EV’s taking over our roads.

For anyone interested in purchasing a clean energy vehicle, be sure to research our two provincial incentive programs, BC SCRAP-IT and CEVforBC™, to save learn how to save money when purchasing an EV.

Another lucky British Columbian, Adam Steele, is driving away with a brand new 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum Midnight Edition on Nissan’s 30th birthday in Canada.

With a towing capability of up to 6,000 pounds and a newly redesigned exterior, the Pathfinder remains today as one of Nissan’s most popular nameplates.

Having won the IIHS Top Safety Pick award the new Nissan Pathfinder Platinum Midnight Edition, showcased in the Auto Show contest, features exclusive black aluminum-alloy wheels, black exterior accents and LED interior lighting elements.

As we wrap up this year’s show, we are incredibly grateful to be able to offer show-goers with amazing opportunities to win some incredible prizes.

I had the opportunity to call Adam to tell him the news about his big win and I think he speaks for all of us when he said that the Grand Prize is “out of this world!”

Maybe you are the next lucky winner at the 2018 Vancouver International Auto Show, and planning is already underway for the 2018 Show, which will run from March 28 to April 1, 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
